	142	Rei UP. REI 2:“I am me. Because I became who I am through the time I've spent and the connections I've made with other people.”	Dr. Nick: Distilled here, the becoming real human storyline of every Rei clone since. Or, what if Pinocchio but moe?
	143	A silhouetted Rei sinking into water. REI 3 (OFF):“The current me has been molded through contact with other people.” REI 2 (OFF):“Contact with people and the passage of time change the shape of my heart.”

	161	TEXT:“"It frightens you, doesn't it?"”	Dr. Nick: Rei III's fear of ceasing to exist packs more punch if the mind backup theory is true and she's dealing with a genuinely lost a sliver of her life from the days preceding Rei II's death.
	162	Rei sitting in folding chair. T-U. REI 3:“No, it makes me happy. Because I want to die. What I desire is despair. I want to return to nothingness.”	Dr. Nick: Was this self-destructive streak just a result of subconscious pressure exerted by Lilith's soul wishing to return to her true body? After all, the ascended, reunified Lilith-Rei, however you may call her, sort of sticks around after all is said and done, even if outside of linear time.
	163	Black screen. REI 2:“But I can't.”
	164	Moon from ED. T-B. REI 2:“I cannot return to nothingness.”
	165	Glasses on top of a chest. T-B. REI 2:“He won't let me return.”
	166	Rei regarding the glasses. REI 3:“He won't let me go back yet.”
	167	Smiling Rei engaged in conversation. REI 2 (OFF):“I existed because he needed me.”
	168	Rei sitting in a folding chair. T-U. REI 3:“But it's over now. He's not going to need me anymore. He's going to abandon me.”	Dr. Nick: Despite her "yes" in cut 172, this cut feels like it's setting up Rei's betrayal of Gendo in 26'.
	169	Rei front UP. REI 3:“I thought I had wished for that day to come, but... Now, I am afraid.”
	170	In the darkness, Rei standing in front of Ikari. IKARI:“Come, let us go. You have existed for this day”	Mr. Tines: While narratively following on from the mutual introspection of the Reis, this also feels like a flashback.
	171	Ikari side profile UP. IKARI:“today, Rei.”
