The cast of Petit Eva

Petit Eva: Evangelion@School (ぷちえゔぁ〜EVANGELION@SCHOOL〜) is a 4-koma school parody manga and CG animated Online Animation featuring the characters from Evangelion drawn in a super-deformed style. The ONA features 24 3-minute long episodes directed by Shunichirō Miki and Hiroaki Sakurai. It started in March 20, 2007.

Plot

The story takes place in Tokyo-3 and everyone, including human-sized versions of Evangelion Unit-01 (Evancho) and Jet Alone (J.A. Chan), attend junior high school. Misato is the teacher, while Gendo is the principal. All 3 versions of Rei Ayanami also appear in the series: the first is the youngest, the second is like the Rei II from the TV series, and the third is based on the alternate reality Rei from Episode 26.

Character Profiles

The supplemental booklet comes with several character profiles:

  • Shinji Ikari
Second year student. He often hangs out with the loud Asuka and the Rei sisters. He's the "Straight Man" of the group, but always ends up the victim.
  • Asuka Langley Soryu
Shinji's childhood friend. She tends to act nice one moment and a jerk the next. She wishes to one day beat all the Rei sisters in a sports game.
  • Rei Ayanami 01
The first sister and a mysterious transfer student. She is athletic and superior in everything else. Overall, a smart girl of few words.
  • Rei Ayanami 02
Known as the sporty type, she's the second sister. She's a complete opposite of her twin. She is also Asuka's rival even without her knowing it. Though very energetic, she tends to fall asleep a lot.
  • Rei Ayanami 03
The youngest of the Rei sisters, she is only 8 years old. Hyper, but very cute. She is known for dragging around a bizarre plushie collection.
  • Evancho (Evangelion Unit-01)
The school bully and Shinji's friend, he's one tough cyborg that doesn't talk. As tough as he may be, he still needs his batteries charged daily.
  • Misato Katsuragi
A teacher at the school. While students fight and bicker, she usually sits on the sidelines and watches. This poor girl lives alone and is quite the drinker.
  • J.A. Chan (Jet Alone)
An android who is usually by herself, she is often the type to over-react. A certain purple cyborg also has his eyes on this girl.

Manga

Two mangas was published. The first one, Puchi Eva ~Evangerion Atto Sukūru~, lit. Petit Eva 〜EVANGELION@SCHOOL〜, was illustrated by Ryusuke Hamamoto and was published by Kadokawa Shoten in Shōnen Ace magazine between May 26, 2007 and September 26, 2009. It had two volumes.
