Neon Genesis Evangelion RPG: The Nerv White Paper is a card based role playing game. The first 138 pages contain rules and various story inserts and the book's back cover can be used (cut out) as a box to store the cards, which are printed on the last 20 pages of the book (also requires to be cut out). The book also contains a fold out page which acts as the game board, a map of Tokyo-3.

The story inserts contain an Extracanonical Characters named Marie Vincennes, a 14 year old Evangelion pilot with a Phd. It also contains 2 Extracanonical Angels named Iblis and Barakijal.

The game consists of events and battles, each character has 2 attributes (harmonics being one of them). The GM is always Gendo Ikari
