Evangelion History
I first found the entry on Neon Genesis Evangelion on the Wikipedia, when, after scrutinizing a list of fictional scientists, took note of the first one- Dr. Ritsuko Akagi, Neon Genesis Evangelion. I was wondering what that was about because of the unusual name, and it turned out to be an anime, one with Angels and biomechanical organisms. Something about the whole thing sort of hooked me, and during a google search I came across an Evangelion fansite (geocities.clara.nge or something like that) and I got hooked by what appeared to be a very deep series indeed.
That was all in 2005.
This year my interest in Evangelion perked up again upon what you might call a whim in college. After a disastrous mess living alone at college (A sort of depression/mania that resulted in me deciding to skip the next year entirely) I was left at home most of the time. Watching a bunch of youtube videos, the series grew on me in a sense, and I managed to get the platinum edition at its cheapest possible price. I can associate with Shinji a lot, and with Gendo as well (Because I get to feel more like Gendo every passing day) and I know for a fact that there is very little that separates father and son. Rei's seeming emotionless and the lack of decoration in her room were very understandable too, with the result that all three of them are my favorite characters.
As a Halo fan
I was a former rampant speculator on the Halo Story Page at Halo.Bungie.Org, and a Bungie fan for quite a while. Paradoxically, I've only ever owned the computer version of Halo CE, and I've been perfectly happy with that. Storywise, I found Halo 3 a touch of a disappointment, but perhaps because I was foolish enough to keep hoping for something magnificent and ridiculously epic...a result of crazed speculation. That's all over- especially since the speculation associated with this website drowns any sort of Halo speculation.
Marathon, however, is another story...I will have to ask BobBQ more about it.
