Zusuchan: Legitimately feels like Asuka thinks masculinity is preferable to femininity, at least if this comment and her way of holding herself are anything to go by.
UrsusArctos: Well, Asuka does seem to embody a number of elements of traditional Japanese masculinity and the "hot-blooded ace pilot" stereotype, in addition to being somewhat unhappy with certain elements of female biology. She hates her periods and doesn't want to be a mother. It does make me wonder if she ever wished she were biologically male, but I don't think I've heard that particular discussion come up.
