Wait a moment...where did Fuyutsuki get that candle from? I'd imagine Nerv keeping a stack of battery-powered lights for times like this, not candles! Mr. Tines: I wonder if this reflects real world old-school earthquake preparedness UrsusArctos: That's very plausible given how prone Japan is to earthquakes, but candles do pose a minor fire hazard and aren't particularly bright compared to flashlights (unless Nerv blew their budget again and could only afford candles). Dr. Nick: I'm going to assume the candles come from a well-stocked occult rituals room.
