Evangelion Heights

An Evangelion is not 40 feet tall, dammit! It's 40 meters tall, a hundred and thirty feet! --UrsusArctos 02:22, 2 September 2007 (EDT)

It actually fluctuates between 40 and 200 meters. --Reichu 18:46, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
The Metric system is the tool of the Devil! Actually, I was just working at like 3 am and half-awake. --V 21:05, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
Ah, an old-fashioned one? The metric system is better. Not different. BETTER. That's why scientists use it.
I look forward to playing catch-up on the Angel and Eva articles. So much in my brain and on my HD waiting to burst out. Way too much to do... --Reichu 23:02, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
Just a second...do you mind letting me edit the part on Evangelion heights? Herr Lorenz is particularly stubborn at the moment. --UrsusArctos 23:53, 2 September 2007 (EDT)

A.T. Field Ammo

(Asuka whine )Eeeeeeeyeaaaannhhh? What gives? The Evas cast an A.T. Field around their ammo so that Eva weapons are effective against Angels? Where did that come from???? Jeez, I'd do some serious cleanup on that bit- there's nothing in the show that proves that Eva weapons have any magical ATF capabilities. Asuka thought Zeruel was close enough that her field neutralized his, but that either wasn't the case or Zeruel was too tough for the guns to hurt (Sure enough, he took even an N2 without a sweat). And those missile batteries are a waste, Gendo and Fuyutsuki acknowledge it.

They fire at Zeruel, by the way, and Zeruel does his Red Cross Pillar of Light thingy and blows up the offending missile battery.

Seriously, I'd put the template of Eva-03 being pulped in this mess. I'm going to be free tonight, just let me know and I'll clean up. --UrsusArctos 00:01, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

Sorry I was trying to do it uninterrupted in one sitting but then kept getting pulled away from my computer by RL stuff (I only meant to protect it for like half an hour)....you do realize this wasn't finished when I left it yesterday? I was just jotting down notes. --V 08:20, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
(Glances over V's reply) Uh-oh! (Tosses up A.T. Field and takes cover)--UrsusArctos 09:10, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
No no, it's just that I've been working so much and so late (on this and RL stuff) that I was just "protecting" it until I got my thought finished, then when I got up to get a snack or something just passed out on a chair. This is a polite way of saying I've been downing so many espressos and "uppers" that I then crashed and basically fell asleep where I stood. I meant "realize it was unfinished" as in "I seriously wasn't going to have something like "Evas have guns, Neo, lots of guns" in the finished article! ^_^--V 11:00, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

Unit 05 and 06

In Episode 22, they say, according to Reichu's translation up on EvaCommentary: "Even here, we're getting Germany to give us parts from Unit 05 and 06 that are being built there." However I've seen other translations render it "We've even received parts from Germany which were originally meant for Units 05 and 06". The difference is slight, but holds great meaning: --> were they working on an original Unit 05 and Unit 06, which were scrapped for parts when the MP Evas were contracted for construction? That's what I always thought. What about you guys?--V 23:14, 4 October 2007 (PDT)

That'd explain why Eva-05 and 06 never turned up in the show even when originally planned. Slick excuse. --UrsusArctos 03:53, 20 December 2007 (PST)

Individual Eva design

Do we add, say, the armor descriptions for Eva-00 and Eva-01 to their respective pages? I notice that a number of pages on the individual Evas hold stub designations, I'll add these when I get to work on them tomorrow.--UrsusArctos 03:55, 20 December 2007 (PST)

"Full name" of the Evangelions

I based the full name of the Eva Units on the translation that Reichu provided in the original EvaCommentary, vis a vis, this page: http://www.evacommentary.org/episode-01/episode-01B-scene6.html --V 21:46, 19 January 2008 (PST)

Hm...I just checked it, and I don't really see anything that makes it seem like it's the full name. It still seems like it's Ritsuko bragging. But if that comes from the original script, then I suppose I was wrong. Shiro 21:58, 19 January 2008 (PST)

Of course, I'm not sure how exactly they phrase this in the original Japanese vis a vis if its a "Formal" name or not, but the way Reichu's translation there was put I assumed it was. Need more input. --V 07:00, 20 January 2008 (PST)
It's the Evangelions' full, formal designation. --Reichu 16:02, 21 January 2008 (PST)
OK, then. I was unsure, due to the billions of translations of Episode 1 that float around the interwebs. You have the resources, so yeah. But isn't "jinzou ningen" translated as "artificial human?" "Humanoid" just means human-shaped, while "artificial" or "man-made" human would be a bit more...true to what the Eva is. Shiro 18:05, 21 January 2008 (PST)

Doesn't it say "Final Decisive Weapon: Humanoid Evangelion" in English, white text on black screen, in one of the episodes? --Zugzwang 08:45, 22 January 2008 (PST)

Just want to know, what's this section in the article?
