Past
Kaji was Misato Katsuragi's Lover; he then worked for Nerv in Germany, where he met Asuka Langley Sohryu.

Kaji works as a triple agent but also has his own agenda to "search for the truth". Since returning to Japan, he has tried to get close to Misato once again.
