Misato is a Captain, and later a Major at NERV.

Past

Misato is the daughter of Dr Katsuragi, who headed the Katsuragi Expedition. She is the only survivor of the expedition after its loss during second impact.

Tokyo-3

Misato moves to Tokyo-3 shortly before the Angels reappear. She takes in Shinji and later Asuka into her home.

She has a pet house penguin named Pen-Pen.
