Izu Peninsula(伊豆半島, Izu-Hantou)

The Izu Peninsula is a peninsula to the west of Tokyo, and part of the Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. A popular resort area, it is known for its onsen hot springs.

In-universe- In the series, the battle against Gaghiel is fought as the Naval Convoy passes over the submerged city of Ito, identified by street signs on the display screen.

-Atsugi Atsugi is a city in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan. Apart from being a satellite city for the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area, it is also known for the United States Navy base at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, which actually is not in Atsugi but straddles the border between the neighbouring cities of Ayase and Yamato.

Atsugi AFB Naval Air Facility Atsugi is the largest US Navy air base in the Pacific and houses Carrier Air Wing 5, which deploys with the carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Atsugi is shared with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense force.
