UrsusArctos: Manda is named for Masaomi Manda in Ryu Murakami's Ai to Gensou no Fascism, the Prime Minister of a leftist revolutionary government who is overthrown. All the characters in this sequence - Tokita, Manda, Yasugi and Witz - are named directly after characters from the Murakami novel, as are Toji and Kensuke. (See Character Name Origins for more).
