My anal-retentive side kicking in; I fixed all the episode shorthand to be the same. Speaking of which, instead of any episode # short-hand, shouldn't there just be links to all the episodes instead? Just a minor point...

I find it an odd ommision that a discussion of Rei's "bookend" appearances would fail to include this paragraph from the Rebuild/Platinum booklet episode 01 commentary, since it is the only 'official' statement I'm aware of on the topic:

When Shinji comes to New Tokyo-3, he sees a girl that seems to be Rei Ayanami for just an instant. Considering how she is injured and wrapped up in bandages, when he later meets her in NERV Headquarters, the natural assumption would be to think that this was a phantom vision. But in Episode 26, "My True Heart For You," a different possibility is suggested. The girl that appeared for just one cut in this scene may be the Rei Ayanami who is "the existence that gazes upon man."

I'm not exactly sure what that's supposed to mean, but it does, at least, discount the idea that "Bookend Rei" is some sort of hallucination.

Title

The current title ("Rei's Ghostly Appearances and Quantum Mechanics") is a bit unwieldy. Can we think of a shorter one for when the page gets moved to the T&A namespace?

I'll review the article at some point and offer ideas for expansion/etc. (if Wayne or whomever doesn't get there first). --Reichu 12:49, 20 August 2007 (EDT)

confuzzled

It is impossible to say so because of the distance at which Rei is seen, but she appears to have "Sachiel eyes" like the Rei form that burst out of Armisael and the Rei-Adam-Lilith being in End of Evangelion in Episode 01. Her eyes are not visible in the final scene of End of Evangelion, but appear to be shaded over instead. what are you talking about here exactly? In the Director's Cut of Ep. 23 the giant Rei (actually Armisael) that rises from Unit-00 and tries to embrace Unit-01 has weird Angel eyes at first. She closes them and when she opens them again they've changed into Rei's eyes. Something very similar happens with Giant Naked Rei in EOE. --thewayneiac 10:55 AM EDT. Nov. 20, 2009.
