UrsusArctos: It's been a looong time since Reichu proposed that Kaworu was created from Dr. Katsuragi in the same way that Rei was created from Yui Ikari, and the sole image we have of Dr. Katsuragi's face does nothing to disprove this theory, which has been around for long enough to be "received wisdom" in these parts. While we've never had any confirmation who Kaworu's genetic donor was, the idea that it was Dr. Katsuragi makes too much sense thematically for any other alternative (random nobody) to be viable.
