First Lieutenant Makato Hyuga is one of the three main computer technicians at NERV HQ, along with Maya Ibuki and Shigeru Aoba, often carrying out orders directed from Misato Katsuragi.
Hyuga is a bit nerdy, reading manga comics during breaks at NERV HQ, but he is quite competant at his job.
Hyuga has an innocent crush on Misato, which she seems to be aware of but doesn't mind, and Hyuga does not interefere with Misato's relationship with Kaji when she renews it.
