SHINJI:“...It's red, Unit-02. I didn't know that.” ASUKA:“It's not just the coloring that's different.”	Line: Why does Asuka remind me so much of Misty from Pokemon? She always did, but particularly in this caption and I dunno why. Kendrix: She had it painted her favorite color, which by itself shows her to have a different attitude towards it – it’s her pride, rather than something she feels subjected to. Hence why she wears the interface clips in everyday life. UrsusArctos: The pilots don't seem to have any influence over the garish color schemes of the Evas. Perhaps red is her favorite color because the Eva, which she's obsessed about since she was little, was painted red? On a meta level, red has been used in mecha anime to mark the personal unit of an ace pilot ever since Char Aznable's legendary red mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam.
