Sigma Unit

The Sigma Unit is the region of Nerv HQ in which the Pribnow box, which contains the Simulation bodies, is located. In Episode 13, the Angel Ireul infects this region, starting with the Pribnow box.

Notes

• Episode 13 is actually inconsistent in establishing whether the Sigma Unit is located above or below Central Dogma, with several conflicting statements within the same episode stating that it is alternately above or below it.
• The "Sigma Unit" appears to be named after the "Sigma Unit" of the RNA polymerase enzyme, which is the part responsible for recognizing the signal on the DNA strand that tells the polymerase to begin synthesizing RNA.
