On a completely off-topic note, I recall the 'this is Adam etc' line being also in the Secret of blue water/Fushiji no umi no Nadia anime, which I suppose you all know was by Gainax too (one of the girls in ep 3 in the school looks terribly like Nadia; self quoting is a mania at Gainax, there's

a lot more).
