dzzthink: Scenes where Eva is hosed off, seem to remind me of the bathing scenes of the other characters. There is a purification that comes after the violence in the previous scenes. A baptism of some sort to wash away the sins from within.
UrsusArctos: Furthermore, a baptism is often performed soon after birth, and Eva-01 has just brutally "reborn" itself from Leliel.
