UrsusArctos: Ritsuko tried to stealthily ship Shinji with Rei, and now she's shipping these two together (even if she's not really impressed by their relationship in Episode 21). She'd better not hold out for an actual marriage, though. Even Shin Eva, which gives them a child, doesn't let them spend any time as an actual married couple (that we know of). There's no doubt that Misato and Kaji are passionately in love and care very much for each other, but a marriage requires a level of mutual trust, caring and most importantly, friendship that exists beyond the initial throes of passion. These two are so loaded with emotional baggage that I seriously doubt they'd be able to live together as an actual married couple.
