UrsusArctos: Wow, good catch! I also notice that Shinji has the paper cover for a pair of chopsticks off to his right, while Asuka has a little table mat with what looks like a napkin and cutlery. They really do make a point of Asuka's foreignness (from a Japanese perspective) in this episode even when it comes to little details.
