This page is here for editors who are totally new to MediaWiki, or need to brush up on some of the basics. Are you ready for your training?

FGP uses MediaWiki software due to its various handy features, such as the great ease it provides in updating and permitting multiple people to work on the same site. All of us were new to MediaWiki once, so don't be worried if this is your first experience. You won't be judged on your ability or penalyzed if you mess up. Familiarity with Evangelion is much more important than having prior knowledge of this Wiki stuff.
While MediaWiki coding and features can get very involved, the fundamentals are all you need to know to begin. This guide will provide something like 90% of the Wiki code you'll ever actually use on a regular basis. March through Boot Camp from start to finish, and you should be ready to start contributing! (But don't forget to check out the various other documentation -- it's there just for you.)
