::Asuka hanging her head in despair is from Episode 15 after they kiss; that's not a flashback to this episode; confusion is that Asuka is wearing the same outfit.  I've rewatched the scene, and unless production notes say something new....the scene instantly skips from Asuka saying "we're alone then", to Asuka walking up to her blanket and taking it to another room: she doesn't wait for Shinji to react or anything.  She's PO'd at having to be perfectly synchronized with Shinji all the time, and jumps at the chance to be alone for the night now that Misato cannot force them.  Maybe Asuka is flirting with Shinji in the sense that she is teasing him, but I've rewatched this scene a couple of times now and I have no idea where this conclusion that Asuka is ''physically'' flirting with Shinji comes up.....based on your description, I thought there would be a shot where Shinji pauses and says nothing, and Asuka gets annoyed that he doesn't say anything, but this didn't happen; Asuka gives him no time to react.--[[User:V|V]] 23:40, 25 August 2007 (EDT)

Asuka: "Then, that means we're all alone tonight! <3" Shinji: "?" Analysis

sigh I really wish EMF was up right now... So is there not going to an Analysis section about Asuka's extreme flirting and Shinji's not noticing this in the "Misato will be at work all night" to the "This is the Wall of Jericho!" scene? Basically, Asuka seems interested in, uh, doing things with him (just how far is best left up to the viewer's interpretation, I guess), Shinji doesn't pick up on this, so Asuka gets pissed and sleeps in Misato's room. The lights dim in Misato's home, and Asuka complains "How can Japanese sleep on the floor?" before the scene changes.

During the extended mindrape sequence in Episode 22', when Asuka closes the door Misato's room, she's hanging her head dejectedly at the door and actually thinking "You won't do anything!" despite her outwardly complaining about something not related (Can you say defense mechanism?). I thought this would be an important scene to analyze/point out, since it's one of the most important A/S scenes (being referenced in 22' and all) and its something people miss unless somebody point its out to them (what happened with me, for instance.) --Sailor Star Dust 23:07, 25 August 2007 (EDT)
