"It does seem that after Adam awoke and was about to initiate Second Impact, Katsuragi tried as hard as he could to lessen the effects of the explosion.": Actually, I think he hot-footed it out of there and let everyone else deal with the mess. If he stuck around, it couldn't have been for very long -- note the glove he left on that fencing.

Did Katsuragi abandon his own team to save Misato? I got the impression, based on the UN report video, that he was doing what he could to stop Adam from awakening, but when Adam actually fully awoke it was too late, most of the team died, he was pretty much the only one still alive, so half-alive he runs to save Misato; after all of the team and their equipment was trashed. --V 13:22, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
