Umm...was this in the original Geektionary, and isn't there something more PC we could use? --V 19:33, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

There was originally a link to this image instead of its being embedded in the article, but yes, anyone reading the shipping article would have seen this pic upon clicking the "unbelievably farfetched" link, with no warning that they were nekkid. This pic isn't exactly the worst in the article. I left the really bad stuff as links, as they were originally, and left them on the old site instead of porting them over here.

Edit: I would, of course, be strongly opposed to having outright porn on this sight, but is this pic really a big deal? Presumably there will be nudes of Rei right out in the open in the EOE articles, plus Asuka's breasts in the hospital scene, and the Geektionary is sort of an obscure section. --thewayneiac Aug. 31, 2007 19:46 EDT.

Yes, people will judge us as "oh my god, Anime = porn, even if it is a clearly labeled "this isn't even part of the real show" thing. In terms of "what if newbies hear about Eva and start reading and stumble upon this", it's a bad idea to have this. Can't you include something where at least a clothed Rei and Asuka are kissing or whatever? --V 20:15, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

I think I can dig up something a little more PG, but I'll still have to include a link to the naked one because Reichu had it in the original. --thewayneiac Aug. 31, 2007 20:26 EDT.

This image is rather tame; like Wayne said, there's nothing here that's not in NGE itself. (Well, aside from two chicks kissing.) I find it rather humorous, personally. --Reichu 20:36, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
Tame perhaps, but still gratuitous. ObsessiveMathsFreak 21:49, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
Strange Bedfellows?

I came up with this in case V wins the day on this, though I would still keep what's there. This actually seems more suggestive and sexy to me than the naked one. --thewayneiac Aug. 31, 2007 20:53 EDT.

And it's not funny.
I remember Dr. Nick approved of the other one. Worst comes to worst, there's always Nerv Fig Leaf Censorship Technology. But, really, I don't want the site to be overly puritanical. NGE is a show with nipples the size of Tokyo and giant vulva-stigmatas, after all. --Reichu 21:06, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

I am actually really in favor of the image at right. --V 22:10, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

Seconded. In addition the caption should remain as is. ObsessiveMathsFreak 21:49, 6 September 2007 (EDT)

I mislike censorship, especially self-censorship, but we do have to be somewhat pragmatic about things. The image is too gratuitous for what should be a fairly mild Geektionary entry. When we have to put up controversial pictures we will, and without hesitation. But that doesn't mean we should put just anything up. I don't think it's a question of being puritanical, because we can't afford to be on this site. I think it's a question of simply being pragmatic. We shouldn't throw pictures of naked people in front of people unless it's actually warranted, and it isn't in this case. We risk driving away the casual browser and ... attracting a less desirable crowd. I could also argue a weak point about "misrepresenting the show", but since this is a Geektionary entry, I'll just stop there. ObsessiveMathsFreak 21:49, 6 September 2007 (EDT)

Though this image could be said to be gratuitous, this one is fine, despite nudity. What should count as gratuitous? I'll paraphrase Judge Stewart, and simply say that while I can't define it, I know it when I see it. ObsessiveMathsFreak 21:56, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
