UrsusArctos: The last time we saw a candle in the series was when the power went out in Episode 11. In that episode, Asuka talked about clearing the embers when passing through a fire, while Rei talked about how mankind feared darkness and chipped away at it with fire. Both seem apropos to the image of the lone candle in the darkness.
