Gainax Company, Limited is the anime studio which produced Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was founded by four university students, among them Hideaki Anno and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, in 1981 (when it was originally known as "Daicon Film").
Other notable Gainax productions include Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Aim for the Top 1 & 2, His and Her Circumstances, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
