Neon Genesis Evangelion: Anima is a light novel currently being serialized in Dengeki Hobby Magazine. It takes place three years after the time period of the anime and features the children at age seventeen. In this alternate narrative, Human Instrumentality Project has not yet occured. The chapters are accompanied by numerous illustrations of the characters and many redesigned Evas. Anima is advertised as "Ikuto Yamashita presents," and presumably some or all of the new Eva mecha designs are by him.
