Animation blunders

Does this belong in a sub-topic of its own? Episode 06 suffers badly from a number of blatant visual mistakes, including some pretty obvious ones like the image of Ramiel's beam coming out of the skyscraper being shot through instead of out of his body, the drill that turns backwards, Misato looking awful, the A.T. Field being hexagons instead of octagons, and so on. And who has the credits for the third-string Korean animation team?--UrsusArctos 01:42, 15 November 2007 (PST)

Token article on the animation problems in place, feel free to get rid of it if it's unnecessary. --UrsusArctos 02:43, 15 November 2007 (PST)

I'm opposed to the blanket statement "it has inferior animation" and such, better that "it has a lot of mistakes in it" etc. At any rate, we need specific examples of each one. We've already seen the Ramiel drill problem and the disappearing/reappearing energy beam. What is "Misato looks awful"? I know what the display of Ramiel's A.T. Field is (incorrectly showing it as hexagons....even though at other times it is octagons for Ramiel itself) but I'd like a pic of it. That isn't enough to make a separate article for; make a subsection within the article. And what is this about a Korean animation team? --V 04:33, 15 November 2007 (PST)
Again and again, I've heard that there was a backup Korean animation team that Gainax outsourced some of their work to, and Episode 06 unfortunately fell under the outsourcing. I've watched the episode, and there's no doubt that the animation looks considerably worse. "Inferior animation" also has to do with the way some of the characters are drawn- Misato looked totally off during the line "There's one last thing I'd like to try before that."(i.e. about using the Positron Rifle on Ramiel). And even Rei's drawing looks pretty bad during her famous smile.--UrsusArctos 16:29, 15 November 2007 (PST)
If we don't know it was the Korean animation team specifically we should not assume it was them, and thus not mention it. Just pointing out the errors is fine. The Rei smile scene was so bad in their view that they were compelled to redo it in Death&Rebirth. I will devote attention to this as soon as I can. --V 16:38, 15 November 2007 (PST)
I've been asking for someone to confirm that it was done by a third party, but I haven't gotten the details yet. So far, I've mentioned nothing about it in either the main article or the animation blunder one. --UrsusArctos 16:43, 15 November 2007 (PST)

Rei and the Moon

Shouldn't the "Rei and the Moon" stuff be moved to the Rei page, since this is just one of many examples? There should just be a brief note and link here. --thewayneiac 11:28 AM (EST) Feb. 08, 2008

Yes. You don't need to formally "propose" this or anything; stuff starts out as analysis from the episodes and if it gets big enough, "graduates" into its own article, etc. I wouldn't remove all of the info from here, but shift the longer stuff onto either "Rei" or its own destinct analysis page. Go for it (you don't really need to ask to do that). --V 11:16, 8 February 2008 (PST)
Rei and the Moon does need to go to its own page, since it covers enough material from around the series.--UrsusArctos 17:19, 8 February 2008 (PST)
