Curious: Does Jet Alone really need its own page, or could it possibly be fused into a "Mecha" page covering Jet Alone, Jet Alone II, and the Land Cruiser(s)? --Reichu 20:11, 13 June 2008 (PDT)

We could change the name of Extracanonical Mecha to "Other Mecha" and include JA, JA2 and the Land Cruisers. Even without the name change, we could use the old page as a redirect page and place a note- "Jet Alone is unique in being the only true robot that is canonical- the rest of the mecha on this page are not". --UrsusArctos 22:11, 13 June 2008 (PDT)
The idea occurred to me that maybe we ought not to lump Evas, Angels, and robots onto a single page after all, hence the motion to make a common Mecha or Robots page for the things that aren't Evas and Angels, and perhaps split the remaining page into Extracanonical Evas and Extracanonical Angels (with the hope that more info will get added to both). --Reichu 22:17, 13 June 2008 (PDT)
I like Reichu's idea better, because it avoids the need of noobish "true robot" disclaimers. Evas and Angels have their own categories ready. "Robots" should probably go to the weapons category (or perhaps we should have a more general "technology" category?). --Dr. Nick 00:04, 14 June 2008 (PDT)
"Weapons" is mostly for Eva and JSSDF/UN conventional weaponry, isn't it? JA and the Tridents are more complex than that. Perhaps we should have a "Non-biological mecha" category, with Evas and Angels being biological mecha? I admit that "Extracanonical Biological Mecha" would be a long page title, however.--UrsusArctos 03:46, 14 June 2008 (PDT)

Wait....so it gets "basic commands" from the base, but then carries them out on its own?--V 20:44, 10 February 2008 (PST)

I think it needs a page to itself, but the text needs to have more content, as there is relevant information that is not included in the article. I believe more pictures would be useful. We also need to mention who defeated it and how, and mention the episode it appears in by the use of a hotlink. (are the words that are highlighted blue that link to other pages called hotlinks?). --ReiAyanami25 11:42, 22 November 2011

Allusions

Ikuhara Industries (in the Jet Alone joint venture) are an homage to Kunihiko Ikuhara, director of some Sailor Moon seasons and tv specials, a close friend of Anno.
