Formatting
Ugh, the formatting on this page is a mess. Is it because of all those thumbnails? Should some of them be removed or what? (We don't need THAT many, especially on a regular episode page, do we?) --Sailor Star Dust 13:57, 21 May 2008 (PDT)
Dub-Quotes
Let's trash the dub-version of Gendo's classic, "Yes, there's no mistake..." line. The original is there, ergo doubling up with dubbitude is redundant. Plus the dub is inaccurate there anyway, and it gives me Tristan MacAvery flashback chills.
Speaking of which: If you're going to include quotes from the ADV English dub, you'd better pick choice ones from all those OTHER dubs, too. All dubs are created equal. More to the point: I don't want to have any dub-quotes in the quote sections at all. The only real place they've ever had in NGE Fan-Geek Land is in script comparisons (which could feasibly be undertaken here, but not in the episode pages themselves). --Reichu 23:40, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
- I do not anticipate having many English dub quotes, and in principle, an episode does not require them. This is an English-language site, and thus, we're going with the English dub (a spanish Evapedia would use the spanish dub). Really I just want to use it a handful of times when there is a significant difference between the dubs. Of course, if you think Gendo's line isn't significant, that can be removed. But in principle I think it should stay, just not used that much. Mostly I put it in for showing the differences between how Tiffany Grant uses extra German words, i.e. in Episode 08. --V 11:44, 8 August 2007 (EDT)

"Oni"?

I've never heard this one before. It doesn't strike my as being very "punny", since "O-Nine" is pronounced "O-NAIN" in Japanese. --Reichu 06:05, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
- Well its right there in the English dub; I don't know if its funny enough to be a "pun" (It's a pun that characters in the story itself made as a bad joke) but the English version bothered to spell out "you know, like an Oni!" and the Japanese version doesn't. --V 18:32, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not sure if something qualifies as a pun because the English dub says it does. (FYI, FGP operates more or less as if no NGE dubs existed. If this is a problem, -->forums.) --Reichu 19:52, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
- Although the Japanese dub is default and the "official" one, to be comprehensive the EvaWiki should point out things of note that occur in the official English dub (along the lines of "this is a mistake that the English dub made that if you have only seen the English dub you might not be aware of"...). - Something that's currently unavailable. In any case, the dub-script's innumerable divergences do not warrant mentioning -- unless it's (a) page(s) devoted exclusively to said divergences you're talking about. Sachiel

Yom Kippur
"This episode premiered on October 4th, 1995, which also happened to be Yom Kippur that year. It's not clear if, given the various references to Jewish mysticism in the series, this was an intentional choice or just coincidence." The inclusion of this struck me as a bit odd. - I didn't think of it. Some guy added it into the wikipedia.org article for "Angel Attack", and I figured it was enough of a notable coincidence (purely as trivia) that I might as well keep it around. Would you like it removed? (I'm no fan of that bit myself actually, as I thought it a pure coincidence and not particularly interesting). --V 14:35, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
Regarding Ritsuko's swimsuit
I heard it said it was a continuity error that Ritsuko's swimsuit starts out as a two-piece swimsuit but switches to one-piece; I cannot find evidence of this; there is a bar along the back, but we only see the full-front view of the swimsuit when she is in the elevator; I have seen one-piece swimsuits that have designs like that (a bar along the shoulders as opposed to just a U). So I see no error there. Of course...this in no way explains how Ritsuko quickly switches from a swimsuit to her jacket and panty hose later on. --V 21:51, 16 November 2007 (PST)
