On Some of the Notes

↑ “Council in Session” is a very rough take on 謁見の間, since literal translations either made no sense or sounded incredibly non-fluent.

Have you considered "Hearing in Session", in reference to a Court Hearing? Then again, "Council in Session" probably works better than that.

↑ I suspect "gate bar type" is wrong. I couldn't find much on 閂.

It's not as far wrong as you may think; 閂 is literally a door that works, one way or another, by means of a horizontal bar across the middle. My idea was to leave out the word "gate", giving a perfectly comprehensible "bar-type locking safety device".

↑ “Firing net” is the best I can come up with for 火網. BobBQ tells me that “net would refer to a defense line, covering an area. For example, you could have an anti-aircraft net around a base to shoot down enemy planes.”

What about firing range, or field? I'd suggest arc or sphere as well, but arc seems too two-dimensional and "firing sphere" is just awkward.
