Fruit of Life (生命の実, seimei no mi) is something possessed by Adam and the Angels which grants them immortality and infinite power, in opposition to the Fruit of Knowledge possessed by Lilith and the Lilin.
In Neon Genesis Evangelion, the Fruit of Life is effectively synonymous with the S² Engine.
In Rebuild, the Angels are known to possess the Fruit of Life, but no mention has been made of the S² Engine or a similar physical power source. The Fruit's nature remains swathed in mystery.
