Credits and Lyrics

Chosen as the ending theme for the Evangelion TV series, the music and Lyrics were composed by Bart Howard. It had already been covered and released countless times by various artists, most notably by Frank Sinatra.

Fly me to the moon
And let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, darling kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

The Intro

Fly Me to the Moon has an intro that is omitted by most artists, including Sinatra (Perry Como included it in his version):

Poets often use many words to say a simple thing.
It takes thought and rhyme to make a poem sing.
With words and with music I've been playing.
For you I have written this song.
To make sure you understand what I'm saying.
I'll translate as I go along…
