Evangelion Unit-05 (エヴァンゲリオン５号機, Evangerion Gogouki) is a new Evangelion unit to be introduced in Evangelion 2.0. She appears for a single fast cut in the preview for 2.0 at the end of the first movie. Eva-05 is described as a "provisional" Evangelion unit, and may possibly be piloted by the new character Mari. The arms appear to have an unusual structure and bear giant, lance-like objects. The forehead of the yellow-visored helmet bears a prominent conical projection.
