Specialized sniper equipment fitted to Eva-01 in Evangelion 1.0. Used in conjunction with the Positron Sniper Rifle in Operation Yashima.

S-Type Equipment (Aerial Recon)

S-Type Equipment, notice the modified arm fins.

Specialized equipment for aerial raid. It consists of what looks like a giant jetpack fixed on the Evangelion shoulder in the place of the shoulder pylons and modified arm fins, presumably for direction. Eva-02 is seen in Evangelion 2.0 dropping from a flying wing and carrying an Electromagnetic Crossbow to attack the Seventh Angel.

Enchanted Shield of Virtue (ESV)

An Eva-sized shield used to deflect high-energy attacks for an extended period of time. Utilized by Eva-00 during Operation Yashima to provide cover for Eva-01 against the Sixth Angel's heavy particle cannon. In the post-Third Impact world, the ESV appears to have been subject to mass production, and Wille has replicas equipped to the bottoms of the Iowa Class battleships used to give Eva-08 backup during the Paris Assault Mission. These help shield the landing team from Eva 4444C's positron cannon until Eva-08 is able to bring the enemy unit down.

The name appears to be a reference to Sleeping Beauty: "The road to true love may be barriered by still many more dangers, which you alone will have to face. So arm thyself with this enchanted Shield of Virtue, and this mighty Sword of Truth, for these Weapons of Righteousness will triumph over evil."^{[Source needed]}
