Oh dear. This might sound a little odd, but I think we may have messed up the identification of the Type-90. I thought the sloped armor in the front looked familiar, so I went and looked up the Challenger 2. It's pretty close, but I just can't think of a reason for it to be there. So what do y'all think? Is it a Type-90 or is it Challenger 2? -- Cody MacArthur Fett 1727 hours CST, 3/3/2011

I don't know anything about this stuff, but Explanation refers to that tank as "Leopard 2A7/A10 Main Tank".
Once I have my Complete Record Collections books back in my possession, I should be able to tell you what most of the vehicles and ordnance in the Webuild movies (not on those Explanation pages) are "officially" called. A lot of these are probably based on real things and given fictional in-universe names to account for the differences, but I'm just taking a guess here. --Reichu 23:39, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, ma'am. That is a very useful resource . . . on one hand, on the other I have to wonder what in the world Gainax was thinking when they wrote this stuff up. The tank in question, for instance, does not look at all like a Leopard 2. It looks like a Type-90, it resembled a Challenger 2 most closely, but it does not look like a Leopard 2. In addition, they incorrectly label the M270s as M299s, they give the bombs dropped on Sachiel the designation GBU (Guided Bomb Unit) despite them being unguided, and would it really have been that hard to add Komatsu to "Light Armored Mobile Vehicle (UN Variant)"? -- Cody MacArthur Fett 2021 hours CST, 3/3/2011
