Arianne in an 2012 unofficial re-recording of Komm, süsser Tod
Arianne around the age that she recorded Komm, süsser Tod

Arianne Schreiber is a South Africa-born singer now living in Australia. She was credited mononymously as "ARIANNE" for her work on Evangelion's soundtrack, which concealed her identity from fans for decades (see this forum post for the story of how the fans found her).

Arianne sang two songs for Evangelion: the first was Komm, süsser Tod ("Come, Sweet Death"), which was used in The End of Evangelion when Third Impact began. The other song, which wasn't used, is Everything You've Ever Dreamed; it is only available on two albums, S² Works and Refrain of Evangelion. Both songs were composed by Shiro Sagisu, with lyrics adapted into English by Mike Wyzgowski from Hideaki Anno's original Japanese version.

Arianne was a teenager when she recorded these songs. While living in the U.K., she was introduced to Sagisu by songwriter Rob Davis and had been signed to a label owned by George Michael.[1] At the time of recording, she was entirely unfamiliar with the series. She attempted to get in contact with Khara to participate in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, but was unable to reach them.[2] According to her Facebook page, Arianne spent three days in Japan in order to record "Komm, süsser Tod" and "Everything You've Ever Dreamed"; she said it was "amazing", and that she was "honored to be a part of Evangelion."[3]

Arianne went on to perform for several other musicians, and also had her own electronica band. Arianne also sang three songs for the computer game Rocky Horror Interactive Show. In 2012, she released a remake of Komm, süsser Tod on YouTube.
