Ube-Shinkawa station is a railway station in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, which is [[Hideaki Anno]]'s hometown. It is the setting of the final scene in [[Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0]], where the [[KuMoHa 42]] train comes to a halt (like in real life). [[Shinji]] and [[Mari]], now adults, sit on one of the benches on a platform while [[Kaworu]], [[Rei]], and [[Asuka Shikinami Langley]], similarly grown up, are seen on the platform opposite behind the train. Both Shinji and Mari  run hand-in-hand out of Ube-Shinkawa station into a digitally embellished but very recognizable version of the city of Ube.
